We are a major manufacturer & exporter of automatic voltage regulators. Usually, the electricity is generated & transmitted through a 3 wire system in every country. It is called balanced type supply system also. The load consists 1 phase equipment as well as 3 phase equipment, which needs to be run on this 3-wire balanced system; so to help the same, Delta / Star configuration transformer is in use at last distribution network point. By using the same, the 3 wire system becomes converted into a 3 Phase 4 wire system.
The main issues here is the neutral of star side must be rightly grounded to avoid floating / oscillation of neutral. Neutral is essential for stable electrical conditions. If not taken carefully, this condition gives birth to unbalanced 1 phase supply nature, which is usually seen in our distribution networks. Now even in above conditions, the line to line voltages remain balanced for practical functions in spite of unbalanced line to the neural voltages. Hence there are comparatively less troubles in running a 3 phase loads as compared to 1 phase loads.
Types of Automatic Voltage Regulators / AVR
Unbalanced Type AVR:
It is suitable for various conditions. All the phases are independently sensed as well as corrected. It's an accumulation of 3 single phase units combined together. Suited for both balanced and unbalanced loading, incoming voltage. Unbalanced type automatic voltage regulators are used widely and recommended for many applications and industries.
Balanced Type AVR: One phase (master) sensed, and all the 3 corrected according to the master phase. Suitable only for balanced loading and balanced incoming voltage. In case of all the 3 Phase nature load, the balanced type Automatic Voltage Regulators / AVR are used.
How to decide right KVA of Automatic Voltage Regulators
Some thumb rule conversions elements for selecting the right KVA of the Automatic Voltage Regulators:
a. KVA of Stabilizer = HP of lift * 3
b. KVA of Stabilizer = Tonnage of AC plant * 2
c. KVA of Stabilizer = H.P. for Resistive loads
d. KVA of Stabilizer = H.P. or KW/ Power Factor for Reactive loads
